We are Courtney and Dustin. We live in farming community in southern Minnesota. We are in our mid-30s. We have chosen adoption to expand our family because we have a strong desire to be parents. We have three sons from Courtney's first marriage and we were chosen to be our daughter's parents by her biological family in February 2011. We feel very strongly about open adoption, not only did we gain a child but also a strong extended family in her biological family. We feel that our family will be complete when we welcome a child (and his/her family) into our family once more.
Families come in all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and situations. Our blended family comes from two very different backgrounds. We feel our combined experiences and upbringing continue to serve us well as parents.

Don't let the cow tie fool you, this is serious business!
Dustin is thoughtful, easygoing, generous and silly. He is the first one playing on the floor with his nieces, nephews and our children.
Dustin never complains and embraces life's ups-and-downs with such patience. Dustin has a strong faith and is a wonderful husband, father and friend.
Dustin's passions are evident in everything he does; Family, Faith, Fishing and Sports!

Courtney - through Dustin's eyes:
Courtney, like her mom, is caring and devoted to her family!
Courtney grew up in the suburbs with her parents and a younger brother. She loved ballet as a girl and took classes several times a week. When we met, Courtney fell in love the rural lifestyle and the farm and all the animals too. She loves children and being a mom (she has 3 sons from her first marriage). She is such also a wonderful mother to our daughter. She has worked with children on a professional level much of her adult life as a pre-school teacher and Learning Center Director. She loves to garden and cook and make crafts. She is active in volunteering with 4H, the community and our church. We feel 4H is a great place for our children to explore any interests they have. Finding a passion in life is important for our children so we strive to offer our child experiences that grow passions!
A big, fun farm house!!!
You will find us outside!
Our home is a typical rural farm house. We are back from the country road and have 10+acres of land to play on. You will usually find us outside playing ball, in the garden or taking nature photos. There are wooded areas on each side of our house to play in. The best part about where we live is how close we are to Grandma and Grandpa! They are just a mile down the road. Courtney's parents are a bit further away but we try to get together often. Our famliy is very supportive of our open adoption with our daughter's biological family and we have many new nephews and neices - a big family means big fun! We are both active in the farming community, dairy industry and our church.
